Prizemoney Increase in Vic

Prize-money increases in Victoria will take effect from today January 1, 2019 as a result of the Labor Government’s election commitment of additional funding for the state’s thoroughbred racing industry.

A total of $33 million is being invested over the next two years, with Racing Victoria committing to boost the package of minimum prize-money increases for the period beyond $40 mIllion.

Minimum Saturday prize-money for metropolitan races will be $125,000 and three-year-old and staying races will be $135,000.

Country TAB meetings will also benefit with minimums of $22,000 to $35,000 for night meetings.
